The Civility Pledge of Master Blair

I pledge to conduct myself, in word and deed, with civility, but more than simple civility.  I pledge honor.  I believe honor to embody the virtues of respect, honesty, compassion, courage, humility, connectedness/unity, trust and love.

I also pledge integrity—living and acting in alignment with spiritual law and with my highest vision, despite any impulse to the contrary; being integrated, knowing myself, being myself so that all actions are authentic; consistent with my highest intentions.

I pledge myself, in word and deed, to generosity of spirit in my affirmative support of the individuals, organizations and events in the Leather community.  I pledge to honor my chosen path with my daily actions.  And I pledge to honor my sisters’ and brothers’ visions, knowing that each one is a tiny, shining fragment of an infinite whole.

I pledge that if I believe myself to have been offended by, or am drawn into disagreements with individuals or organizations, or otherwise fail in my pledges or fall from my path, that I will work towards reconciliation through words and deeds that will reflect my commitment to civility, honor and integrity.

I pledge that should disagreements arise, I will directly address the appropriate parties.  I will be honest with them and I will always look to provide for the positive outcome.  I will strive to make choices toward life, love, service and connection.  And will make my decisions not with words alone, but with my actions.

I pledge to use any communication medium such as telephone or Internet contact with the same honor that I would use in my face-to-face interactions.

Beyond individuals and organizations, I want to extend my pledge of civility, honor and integrity to my interactions with the Earth, knowing that She too is alive and affected greatly by my and others’ actions.  I believe we do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, but borrow Her from our children.  Therefore, it is my intent to walk the Earth gently, greeting each experience with dignity and an open heart.

I further pledge to Spirit, to surrender to the Universe—facing, embracing and expanding into moments of opportunity, actively accepting each moment and living in accord with higher will which is expressed as heart wisdom.

And I pledge that I will exercise my authority within my Household to see that the members of the Household of Master Blair conduct themselves with the same honor as I have, myself, pledged herein.

"Excellence is an art won by training and habituation.
We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence,
but we rather have those because we have acted rightly.
We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence, then is not an act but a habit."
