Civility Pledge The other members of What Follows, However, is A Personal Note from Sir Stephen There is a rising concern within our Master/slave Community that we are falling prey to a lack of civility. It may be true, or it may not. Whether it be true or not, there can be no harm in affirming our intention to stand up for civility in our interactions between ourselves and other individuals as well as in the interactions between our Households, our clubs, our organizations, and our special interest groups. In taking a pledge of civility we should bear in mind that life is about progress not perfection and that none of us will achieve perfection in adherence to our pledge, so let us begin with a pledge to offer forgiveness to ourselves and to others should we perform less than perfectly in the future execution of the pledge we make today. I believe that the taking of such a pledge bears greater weight if we do so publicly. I invite everyone who reads this to make a public declaration of civility on this site. Recognizing that for each of us the notion of civility, and the particulars to which we are willing to pledge ourselves, may vary I invite everyone to create their own specific pledge of civility. Any such pledges that I receive I will gladly post to this site for others to see. For those who simply wish to sign onto the pledge that I have written, notify me, and with your permission I will append your name to this civility pledge, or to any other pledge of your choice published on this site. The Civility Pledge of Sir Stephen I pledge to conduct myself, in word and deed, with courage, honor, respect and integrity. I pledge myself, in word and deed, to generosity of spirit in my affirmative support of the individuals in our lifestyle community. I pledge to assist those who are new without expectation of any return. I pledge my respect for the chosen path and opinions of each individual even if they differ from my own. I pledge myself to generosity of spirit in my affirmative support of the organizations, clubs and events in our lifestyle community. I pledge that if I believe myself to have been offended by, or am drawn into disagreements with individuals or groups, that I will work towards reconciliations through words and deeds that will reflect my commitment to courage, honor, integrity, and respect. I pledge that if such disagreements should arise, I will directly address those, and only those, who are involved. I will be open and honest with them. I will keep in mind that it is better to build up than to tear down; better to reconcile than to bear grudges; better to seek an understanding of those with whom I disagree than to impose my will upon them. I pledge to use the internet with the same courage, honor, integrity, courtesy, and respect that I would use in my face to face interactions.
